IPhone will be able to replace the terminal and accept contactless payments directly via NFC

To make a payment, it will be enough to touch one phone to another.
According to the new report Bloomberg, small businesses will soon be able to use the iPhone to accept payments without additional hardware. The feature has been expected since Apple bought contactless payment startup Mobeewave in 2020.
According to the source, such an opportunity should appear after updating the iPhone software in the coming months. Most likely, we are talking about the first beta version of iOS 15.4, the final release of which will take place in the spring.
Mobeewave has previously worked with Samsung on similar NFC functionality, trialling a system called Samsung POS in Canada in 2019 before rolling it out globally. The system allowed the company's smartphones to accept payments directly from contactless cards and NFC payment services such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
Whether such a system will become part of Apple Pay or will work as a separate tool has not yet been specified. Apple representatives declined to comment, adds Bloomberg.
