Motorola showed a device for charging smartphones from a distance of up to 3 meters

Motorola demonstrated remote wireless charging Air Charging, which is able to power up to four devices from a distance of up to three meters.

The charging station itself received 1,600 antennas that scan the room for compatible devices and feed them. The signal can even pass through some obstacles such as paper and leather. If a person or an animal gets between the transmitter and the receiver, the make-up is automatically stopped.

The coverage angle of the charging station was 100º. The maximum power, according to preliminary data, is limited to 5 watts. By modern standards, this is very small, but for a technology designed to charge devices 24/7, it may be quite enough. Such stations can be installed in offices to power smartphones of employees without a lot of extra wires in the workplace.

Also note that this is the second version of the technology, which was originally called One Hyper and allowed charging a pair of devices from a distance of up to one meter. The same development at the beginning of the year demonstrated and Xiaomi.
