In particular, the source says that the iPhone 12 will not come with a standard smooth Lightning cable, but a more durable one with a small plastic sheath - and with an output to USB-C, not USB-A. Interestingly, instead of gold connectors, the new model uses silver ones - they are made of ruthenium with rhodium plating. They are more durable and better resistant to corrosion and liquids than gold. The cable in the photo is 105 cm long.

Most likely, these cables will also become available for sale separately as an alternative for those who do not have a regular Lightning for a long time.
