As part of the next televised address, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a number of new measures to support the population. One of them was the second payment of 10,000 rubles for each child. This time it applies to everyone from birth to 16 years old.
Those who got this payment in June, will receive a new one, July, automatically - no need to reapply.
The President added that families where both parents have lost their jobs will continue to receive 3,000 rubles per child and an increased unemployment benefit in July and August.
In addition, Putin announced the expansion of the preferential mortgage program for new housing worth up to 6 million rubles (instead of 3 million rubles). And in Moscow and St. Petersburg the ceiling will be increased to 12 million rubles.
Another piece of news concerns the increase in personal income tax from January 1 to 15% from 13% on income over 5 million rubles per year. Only amounts outside this amount will be taxed. The proceeds should be used to treat children with rare diseases.
