Facebook announced on the acquisition of a service for storing and searching animated images Giphy. The amount of the transaction was not officially named, but data Axios, it was $ 400 million.

Following the completion of the deal, Giphy will continue to manage its library (including the global content collection), while Facebook will invest in technology, content and API partnerships. Service users will still be able to download GIF-animations under the same conditions - nothing will change for them.
