The big Samsung Unpacked 2020 showcase will take place in San Francisco on February 11. It will feature the new flagships of the key Galaxy S series and some more interesting new products, rumors about which have already leaked to the Network. Let's tell you more about everything.
Galaxy S20 flagships
The highlight of Unpacked 2020 will be a line of flagship smartphones dubbed the Galaxy S20. Leap from S10 immediately on the S20 will probably be explained by serious improvements and the transition to a completely new level of mobile photography, because the camera should become one of the main advantages of the new products.
If you believe rumors, then the base Galaxy S20 will receive a triple photomodule: a main 12 megapixel sensor, a 12 megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 64 megapixel telephoto. The latter will provide 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. In the Galaxy S20 +, the same kit will be supplemented with a ToF sensor.
But the top-end Galaxy S20 Ultra will have a different set of cameras: the main module is 108 megapixels, wide-angle 12 MP, ToF sensor and plus 48 MP telephoto, which will offer 10x optical zoom and 100x digital. Also, this model should be distinguished by an advanced 40 megapixel selfie camera instead of 10 megapixels and a 5,000 mAh battery instead of 4,000 mAh for the Galaxy S20 and 4,500 mAh for the Galaxy S20 +.
All Galaxy S20 models are credited with proprietary Exynos 990 processors, IP68 waterproofing, AKG stereo speakers and new QHD screens with 120 Hz refresh rate support. Already "out of the box" new items should work on the new Android 10 OS with the proprietary One UI 2.0 shell.
Clamshell Galaxy Z Flip
Together with the S20, Samsung will unveil its first compact foldable phone with a half-fold display. It will be called the Galaxy Z Flip. Recently, its visual renders, and then it was published and videoshowing a folding mechanism.
Apparently, this is a fashion device, like Motorola RAZR. Its main screen will have an aspect ratio of 22: 9 with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels. In the center there is a hole for a selfie camera. An additional 1.06-inch display will be located on the outer surface of the case next to the main camera.
In terms of filling, the Galaxy Z Flip is a full-fledged flagship, which will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The battery capacity will be 3,300 mAh. Also mentioned was support for 15W fast charging via USB Type-C and wireless power up to 9W.
Galaxy Buds + Headphones
Traditionally, with the new flagships, Samsung also releases completely wireless headphones. This time it will be Galaxy Buds +. Compared to last year's Buds there will be several important differences. The first is two drivers, which should provide better sound quality and more pronounced bass. The second is two external microphones for clear sound transmission in headset mode.
The third and most important improvement is increased autonomy: 11 hours of work in music mode without a case and 22 hours with it. In this case, a three-minute recharge will be enough for 60 minutes of use. Other changes include the ability to connect to multiple devices at once and tighter integration with Spotify.
Column Galaxy Home Mini
Smart speaker Galaxy Home Mini with built-in voice assistant Bixby, which does not yet support Russian, is officially already presented, but she never made it to the counters. Judging by the latest data, the gadget will appear on sale on February 12, which means that within the framework of Unpacked the manufacturer can tell about it in more detail.
It is assumed that voice commands from the speaker will be able to send and receive messages, as well as control old equipment due to the IR sensors built into the body. Speakers from AKG will traditionally be responsible for the sound quality.
What else?
Last year at Unpacked Samsung announceda smart watch and 2 fitness bracelets. However, now since the announcement Galaxy Watch Active 2 only six months have passed, so we will hardly see a new wristwatch on February 11. The release of sports trackers looks more plausible, although rumors about such new products have not yet appeared on the Web. We'll find out for sure already on Tuesday.
