It happens that you like your job and ColleaguesBut the thought of that morning have to go back to the office, frightens and makes miserable. French scientist Fabrice SCREAM (Fabrizio Scrima) explainedThe psychometric properties of the workplace attachment style questionnaire the reasons for this attachment theory.
To understand how this works, imagine yourself in a setting that you like. In a place where you go to relax and be comforted. And then mentally move to where there was something wrong. For example, you used to be thrown into the restaurant. Now there is the same great food and friendly waiters, but you do not want to, because you feel bad there.
Your attitude towards work influences the way you feel about the building where the company is located, and what do you think of the organization.
And even if you love only the office break room, where you chasing teas with colleagues, this may be enough to motivate You come to work. If you are proud of the organization, then you feel more meaningful, as involved in something beautiful and correct. Dubious reputation of the company, on the contrary, can demotivate, even if there is nothing wrong with you does not happen.
Scientist proposes to evaluate the attachment to the workplace in accordance with the four-way of its formation:
- Security. You have a positive attitude to himself and to the place where he worked.
- Concern. You have a positive attitude to the office, but a negative value yourself, thinking that you do not belong there.
- Neglect. Do you think well of yourself and bad - on the work site.
- Fear. You have a negative attitude both to himself and to the place where he worked.
To assess attachment SCREAM devised a scale of 15 reasons-statements, which you can love or hate the work. Segment fear in it he did not hit, because during the tests at the same time signs of self-hatred and work did not appear in any of the experiment participants. For the remaining three segments created five theses.
To test yourself, just vote each statement on a five-point system from one (strongly agree) to the five (strongly disagree).
The fewer points you accumulate in a segment of the more typical for you, this method of forming the attachment to work.
neglect segment
- I try to avoid certain places in the company, even if it interferes with my work.
- Nothing will make me to stay at work longer than necessary.
- I'm afraid to go back to work after holiday.
- I prefer not to visit some places in my company.
- I try to postpone the arrival of the workplace.
concerns segment
- I often feel anxiety at work.
- Just thinking about the workplace, I feel anxiety.
- It's hard to feel comfortable in the workplace.
- Some places in the company of causing the bad memories.
- Sometimes I feel that the workplace depresses me.
security segment
- I am attached to your workplace.
- I would be very hard to leave the workplace forever.
- My workplace is similar to me.
- I like to spend time in the workplace.
- I would not like to work in another place.
Naturally, many of the answers to be expected. For example, few people want to linger in office. And only a few postpone work on later, because lateness fraught fines. But the rest of theses compensate this predictability, and the format of your relationship with work is determined with sufficient accuracy.
SCREAM believes that an understanding of the method for forming the attachment to allow you to deal with ambivalent feelings.
If you evaluate your attitude to the company, not only for obvious signs such as salaries or a set of responsibilities, it will help make the right decision about his future career.
Leave work because of discomfort, not associated with the main tasks normally considers screamo. Because it can affect your performance and even mental health.
