Web Services / / December 25, 2019
Microsoft has this summer showing enviable activity and one after another presents new developments. The project called Sway has been announced yet spring, but only now become available to everyone. It is designed to create presentations, reports, digital stories and may soon even oust nice PowerPoint.
The use of PowerPoint has long been considered the unofficial standard for creating presentations. At any conference, meeting or lecture, you can see performances accompanied by the familiar slides from this program. But now at our disposal, a new powerful tool for creating presentations, which has a number of significant advantages over PowerPoint. Here is just a brief list of them.
- Cross-platform. You can use the Sway or download applications for Windows 10, iPhone and iPad web version.
- Integration with Web content. Sway is specifically designed for use in close contact with the Internet and the occupants data. With just a few clicks, you can insert slides in positions of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and multimedia from OneDrive, YouTube, SoundCloud, Vine, Vimeo, Flickr, Giphy and other services.
- Simplicity. If PowerPoint is still a professional tool, the Sway makes it easy to get started without any prior training.
- Free. Sway is available for free use for all owners of Microsoft account.
To get started with Web version of Sway you must have an account Microsoft. After login you will see an offer to see some finished works, to become familiar with the basic features of the editor. Start a new project can be from scratch, as well as upload files to it from Word or PowerPoint.
Clicking on the "Create" button will start the work on a new presentation, for which you must first come up with the name. You can then add the desired content, which is the left pane to select it. The main part of the editor takes the editing area, where are the texts, headlines, images, videos, diagrams, and other content right to you. At any point in the editing area can be rolled up and see the result of his work as the audience will see it.
To quickly change the design of presentations in Sway provides many built-in templates, and each of them can be customized.
The finished work can be published to popular social networking sites, to implement using a special HTML-code in a web page or save in your online document repository on Docs.com. By the way, if you have not heard, this is another new service from Microsoft, designed for publishing and storing documents.
According to the company Microsoft, Sway project was not created to compete with PowerPoint, as in addition to it. It is designed to meet the needs of those users who work in the Network of the widely used Web content and present their projects on the Internet, too. But something seems to me that the product has turned out to be so interesting that he is quite capable to oust the old man PowerPoint. And what do you think?
