IQ does not affect life satisfaction
What does it mean to be smart? Usually we describe as the person who knows a lot and make wise decisions. However, this definition has nothing to do with the most common way to measure intelligence - a test of IQ. After all, it includes tasks for visual-spatial orientation, math problems, pattern recognition and visual search, questions of vocabulary.
Benefits high intelligence obvious: smart people learn better, are more likely to achieve success in their careers, less likely to get into trouble as a teenager. However, intelligence is without prejudice to other areas of life, such as well-being.
You might think that good grades in school or success at work leads to greater life satisfaction, but scientists have found no evidence that IQ is somehow affected by it.
Most intelligence tests do not measure the ability to make decisions in real-world conditions and the ability to interact with others.
