The French company has offered Stanley Robotics solution crowded parking lots near major airports. It has developed a parking robot named Stan.
This self-contained unit will pick up cars being prepared for flight passengers and took them to special parking spaces. And to have them Stan will be much tighter than usual.
Owners of cars will be sufficient to leave a car in a special box, from where he will take the robot immediately. he has a flat wheeled platform that allows to call a car and raise it by means of clamping wheels.
All actions Stan will perform in automatic mode, going around obstacles and gently squeezing between the rows already delivered to the parking machines. The cars themselves are located almost right, because in such an arrangement need to leave space at the sides to open the door simply disappears.
Machines are located in view of the specified owner of the return date. On the day of arrival the car will be moved to the edge parkingSo Stan could quickly deliver it at the request of the owner.
The robot will be tested in London's Gatwick Airport in the parking lot at the south terminal in August 2019. According to preliminary calculations, when using such devices on existing 170 parking spaces will be able to accommodate about 270 cars.
