Life is very simple! Why do we always complicate it?

Stunning performance of Thailand resident John Janda (Jon Jandai) at the TEDx conference. John says only one thing: life is simple, and we are its increasingly complex.
John lived in a small Thai village, and was happy: Free Time, festivals every week, a modest, but nutritious food. All lived in their homes and ate what they grew themselves.
Then, in the village there was a TV, and people began to watch the programs that are broadcast from Bangkok. John felt miserable: he wanted more. He went to Bangkok and worked there. Afford it can not do anything, except rice, noodles and pad melting on weekends. He slept in a small room with a few people and was really unhappy.
At the head of John originated doubts about why people work 30 years to have a house? Why do they have to work so I do not have time to understand yourself and decide you're happy or not?
John returned to the village and began to live there. He was able to build a house for three months, and he had left 29 years and 9 months to simply lie down and read a book.
He built a few houses and is now able to choose where to live today. His friend, who was a good student in school, is now a lawyer. He has 30 years of experience in Bangkok, to pay for your house. Our hero as they have several.
So why are we so hard to live when everything is so simple?
