We have repeatedly talked about the application TranslateIt!. Recently, developers have released a new version of the program. Let me remind you that TranslateIt! - an electronic dictionary that everything else is able to translate not only words but also phrases. Main feature of the application - is a translation of a word just by pointing the cursor at it.
The new version adds support for the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. Get word translations in Word documents, Excel and Powerpoint, you can pop-up window.
One of the wishes of the developers was to improve the dictionaries. Authors TranslateIt! while not working to create their own dictionaries, as it does with Abbyy Lingvo. The path chosen is different: the user is offered the engine, and the dictionaries plugging yourself. In accordance with the vision, and the product develops. The 12 version added support for file formats Babylon and SDICT. As a result, along with the existing base of 90 dictionaries can be used even around 1000.
In addition, the developers have added a new line translation mode, updated some components of TranslateIt! - widget and DictBuilder.

I am glad that TranslateIt! as the project is not abandoned and develops. However, I like the simple user have a few suggestions. In my opinion, the authors of the program it's time to rework an existing application, rather than to focus on adding new features (in other words, to act like Apple is the case with Snow Leopard).
First of all I would like to work correctly with the system applications. Why TranslateIt! does not translate word by positioning the cursor in the PDF-documents in Preview.app (it would have made more comfortable reading e-books, for example)? Why not supported by the browser Chromium (time already has the support of the Opera!)? Is it possible to make exceptions window (where the user is a list of programs that do not need to translate words in a popup window) is more convenient? Now, to specify the app, you have to type its name. But, probably, it is possible to make a list or display the selection window (a good example - Punto for Mac) ...
