Launchpad - a means of running applications on your OS X, which first appeared with the arrival of Lion in 2011. The Launchpad are placed all the applications that are installed on your Mac, regardless of where they are themselves. In addition, it is quite convenient means to launch them. And the applications installed via Mac AppStore, really easy to remove directly from the Launchpad: just hold down the right mouse button on it before the cross, just like in iOS. But there are applications that you install from other sources, and after removing them can cause problems (eg, empty icons in Launchpad). With this we will fight in our article.
Perhaps seeing a "ghost" application in Launchpad, the first method that came to mind for his removal, will use one of the "cleaners" to clean your system. However, all can be done without too much of the software. Here's how:
1. Open the Finder.
2. Hold down the Option key on the top menu, select Move.
3. Select Library.
4. Open the Application Support folder, and in it - a folder Dock.
5. Search for files with the extension * .db and move them to the Trash.
Now to update the database Launchpad settings simply re-login to the system (or reboot). Launchpad After rebooting the system again reconfigures the entire menu to bring it to its original state.
