One of the main features of iOS 8, in addition to Handoff and ContinuityIt became the Family Access option - Family Sharing. This feature allows you to merge a group of up to six people for common purchases in iTunes, App Store, and iBooks Store. To learn how to use it and what to set up, and will be discussed in this article.
Let's first see what the benefits will give us access Family. Of course, the purchase of content. By combining a group of several different Apple ID, you can buy the app once (music, films, books), and the access to it by all group members. In addition, you can make part of the parent accounts, and the other - "children". Thus, if the child decides to make a purchase in-store applications, first he would have to get permission from the "parent" - a notice to come. Saving the family budget on the face: not only do you get the content once for all devices, but also limit your child from unwanted wastage with your card. And, of course, this feature saves time, because if you want to share whatever their content, no longer need to go out of one account and go to another - all done without unnecessary manipulation. Officially.
Among other things, the function of the family access can create shared family calendars, reminders, photostreams, and track the location of all group members.
We now proceed directly to the setup. All that is required - it is a few simple steps:
- Open the Settings app and navigate to the iCloud menu item.
- Click on "Family Access" button, and then click "Get started."
- Enter the Apple ID in your family to send him an invitation, and then click "Continue" button.
- Next you will be asked to specify the payment method for purchases made. You can leave already tied to your Apple ID bank card or add a new one. In this group, you will act as the organizer, but also by default have a "parent" account, ie, all purchases will take place with your consent within the family.
- After clicking "Continue", select whether you want that family members could see each other's locations.
- Now you can add new family members in the group, simply enter their Apple ID. Those, in turn, are notified to the invitation and, therefore, approve it.
In this configuration the Family Access is completed. You just have to add the required members of your family, and to assign to each his rights account: parent or child.
