All Mac OS users know that Apple has provided access to the service FaceTime video calls. He initially available to any user of iOS and Mac OS X. And the vast majority of these users prefer it FaceTime Besides Skype`u. But many upsets poor set of application settings. For example, it is believed that it is impossible to change the sound of an incoming call signal. However, this is not quite true.
In fact, you can put almost any sound or song that will be played at the time of the call. Through standard this can not be the Settings app, but you can work around this limitation by using the Terminal.
To begin, we need a sound file that you want to put on a "call". This can be a file of virtually any audio format: mp3, m4a, aac, or even a ringtone in iTunes - m4r. The duration of his records and plays no role.
Take an ordinary mp3, rename it to "call.mp3" (without the quotation marks), and then copy the Sounds folder (System - Library - Sounds (System - Lybrary - Sounds)).
Preparation is completed. Open Terminal (Launchpad - Terminal) and type the command:
defaults write com.apple. FaceTime CustomRingtone -string '/System/Library/Sounds/call.mp3'
Naturally, you need to look for the correct name. If you named your file otherwise, in the terminal also need to specify the correct name.
All our ringtone has changed, do not even require a reboot. If you want to return to a standard call, in the Terminal, type the following command:
defaults delete com.apple. FaceTime CustomRingtone
