Apple introduced the beta-version of the Siri voice assistant with the iPhone 4s in 2011. After 4 years the company has improved the seriously assistant, has launched a version for iPad, Apple Watch and dictation for the Mac. Siri is now able to respond to a number of tricky issues, Russian version also it has a great sense of humor. Nevertheless founder corporate messenger Slack Stewart Butterfield has a different opinion.
In an interview with Wall Street Journal Butterfield points out that within the Slack develops its own platform to work with "live" language. It helps the user to work more effectively with the messenger, able to learn and build their own assignments algorithms. At the same time CEO Slack said that their system will be more efficient than competitors' products - Apple and Google.
Apple spent billions of dollars on Siri, on the development of a system of hundreds of engineers working on for several years. As a result, we got a complete nonsense. Siri just useless.
In this case, Slack not plan to invest a lot of money in the development of its own tools. Now the company has allocated only a few people will soon be connected to a third-party partner for the creation of a virtual assistant. In the future, their assistant will be able to take part of the task team, schedule, and check schedules: to perform simple tasks that do take time.
It is worth noting that at the moment no company managed to create a truly universal and comfortable-to-use voice assistant. In Siri, Google Now, Cortana has its both strengths and weaknesses. It is possible that Slack will make a better product, but its capabilities are severely limited work with the messenger. True, Apple this fall plans to expand the capabilities of their own voice assistant, and improve it to the level of personal secretary.
