How often, when you move to a new place we assess the environmental situation around? Yes, almost always! This is especially true when a family has a small child. Of course, because we all want to live in a clean environment without choking exhaust fumes and wash in clean water. But at the same time as caring about the external factors, we often ignore what is going on inside of our houses and apartments. Just go to the kitchen or the bathroom, take your cleanser or packet of powder and read the contraindications. They are usually written after the word "CAUTION!" Frankly, the very presence of contraindications is tempting to think that we use everyday tools are not nearly as safe as we would like.
Is there a danger of the chemicals in the home? Let's face it.
First of all, as in medicines, the danger is in the wrong or careless use. Of course, take in a little fabric softener, can only blame themselves. But with the chemistry is full of pitfalls and is not dependent on the user. For example, what dishwashing detergent can not be completely washed off the usual rinsing under the tap. A so-called surface-active compounds (surfactants), which operate very cleansing function not only break up, but also can accumulate in the stomach, causing mucosal irritation. Or, for example, washing powder. No matter how carefully you may rinse the washed linen, powder particles still remain in the tissue and safely enter the body through the pores of the skin. A major cause of allergy in childhood - this is household chemicals.
And what's the alternative?
Of course, knowing about such problems, many have begun to return to the old grandmother's methods or seek organic alternatives to synthetic means.
Fortunately, all increasingly popular "green" wave and captured this area. A little digging on the internet, you can find a lot of alternatives to the usual means of online stores. Usually, all these products have in their names are catchy eye words like "eco", "organic", "organic." The only thing that spoils the joyful picture - the price tag. For example, "organic" detergent will cost about three times more expensive than usual. Of course, this option is acceptable for the most ardent green, but is unlikely to be popular.
Grandma's methods
But if we talk about the alternatives, then let's take a complete alternative to store-bought foods, and try to do the needed funds at home. Of course, the entire assortment of chemicals to replace domestic analogues not work, but that is not necessary, since most can simply give without any harm to yourself and your home. And some finished products such as soaps are already being produced from natural substances.
To start you need to decide what tools we need. What we use every day, and without which it is impossible to do. For example, I chose four substances necessary for me to conduct my modest way of life:
Washing powder.
Dishwashing detergent.
Detergent for windows.
Shampoo.
As a result, for the whole of the list managed to find and prepare your home remedies. For example, to wash windows and mirrorsIt took only mix the lemon juice and water in a ratio of 1: 4 wipe with toilet paper. Of course, the physical effort needed to make more than a conventional wiper, but the result came out just perfect. A warm mixture of soap and soda perfectly I cleared all the dishes. Simply mix the solution and apply as usual means, a sponge for washing dishes. I must say, the result surprised the unprepared person.
The biggest concerns have caused me shampoo. People tend to take good care of your hair as an important element of the exterior, so the recipe homemade shampoo I was looking for a special thrill. In the end, I settled on this: a good mix, even a little, beat the heart of half a banana, egg yolk and the juice of half a lemon. The resultant mixture was use as a conventional shampoo. It foams well and smells, without causing any discomfort. And here to substitute powder having small problems. I tried to wash clothes by hand with a powder of soda and laundry soap (in a ratio of 1: 2). As a result, all it washed off, but remained light flavor soda, which, fortunately, completely blown away by drying.
As you can see, at a certain desire and effort, you can give up the chemicals in the house. Of course, not immediately, but gradually moving to a harmless alternative, you can save not only your wallet but also health.
