No need to wait for the future to improve the present. To be happy, you need quite a bit. As strange as it sounds, but in today's hectic... we do not have ourselves. And mindfulness in every passing day.
Psychologists Mark Williams and Danny Penman many years explored the concept of "mindfulness" and they brought seven lessons which will help to become happier.
1. Do not analyze the problem for a long time
People tend to think that if long enough to worry about their condition, the decision in the end there will. However, studies prove the opposite: too serious analysis reduces our ability to solve problems. And when it comes to emotional difficulties, he does useless. The conclusion is clear: in-depth analysis - is the root of the problem rather than its solution.
2. Smile, even if you do not want
Smile - it's a great illustration of how closely related our mind and body. Smiling, we become happier. And yet the smile is contagious: he saw a smiling man, you almost certainly will smile in response. A vicious circle, but with the best consequences.
3. live in the present
Count how many years you will live more? If you are 20, then the average life expectancy of 70 years you have left to 50 years. If in addition you most of the day to do everything on autopilot, and consciously act just a couple of hours, much less - six years and three months. Yes you are in meetings spend more time!
But if you double the number of hours when you live here and now, in fact, your life expectancy will double. It's like to live to 130 years. And if you act consciously in the three or four times more often? And an additional advantage - the results of studies, people who live consciously and less prone to anxiety and stress and more relaxed, energetic and happy with life.
4. Do not identify with the reality of thought
To the idea must be treated as events taking place in the mind. They, of course, important, but it is not necessary to identify them with themselves and reality. I thought - this is just our internal commentary on their actions and the world around them. Realizing this simple fact, you get rid of the pressure distorted reality that we all create through endless anxiety, reasoning and thinking, and you will once again be seen a clear path forward.
5. Do not get stuck in the past
The feeling that more will be nothing like before, or that I applied to the injury that does not fix it, - the most toxic train of thought. As it is easy to get stuck, because the thoughts themselves, seems to repeat: "We will be with you forever."
This sense of irreversibility arises from the fact that we often get stuck in the past and can recall some of the events only in general terms. And this, in turn, is explained by the desire to suppress unpleasant memories of the events over a second thought about it. As a result, over time, memory of events is too generalized, the details are forgotten. We no longer go back to the details of what happened, but instead are immersed in their own feelings of guilt and losing hope for any future changes. Therefore, consciously suppress such thoughts - let the past remain in the past.
6. Look for completeness in all
One of the biggest problems associated with mad rhythm of our lives, is that often there is not a hint of a sense of completeness. We jump from one task to another, and in a hurry so that the end of one action leads us to the beginning of the next. Between them there are no gaps where we can at least for a few seconds to stop, bring some results and realize that a certain thing finished. The opposite occurs. How often do we say to ourselves: "Today I did not do anything!" Normally we reproach ourselves in this at a time when a lot of time to make. Try to make a pause between chores, and everything will fall into place.
7. Regain your life
Remember a time when you were not so loaded as it is now, when the grass was greener and the sun - brighter. Recall as much as possible, what you were doing? Just make a list of those activities, which were then, and are now almost disappeared from your life. Now select any of them and do it this week. No matter how long it takes - 10 minutes or 10 hours; no matter how much it is or ordinary. It is only important that it is something that will allow you to return to that stage of your life, which you have forgotten.
Do not wait until you want to do it - just do and see what happens. It's time to get back to your life.
