Office for the registration of patents and trade marks of the USA published a new patent from Apple. The patent expands Touch ID, allowing to use it as an additional sensor element for entering a number or a certain pattern to unlock.
According to the patent, the user must set your finger on Touch ID to unlock. This will bring up an additional screen with the wheel to enter numbers (as on older phones) or to input the pattern lock (as in Google devices). Slide your finger on Touch ID will be possible to interact with these elements.
With the iPhone 6 Plus the company has expanded its Touch ID features. For example, now double-tap on an element activates Reachbility function. In theory, at the Touch ID can be a variety of uses, as in trackpad on your BlackBerry device.
New features Touch ID can allow you to quickly launch applications with it. The patent was introduced by Dale Setlak, AuthenTec's co-founder, the company that bought Apple to develop the Touch ID.
