Tinycards - a new service from Duolingo creators to quickly memorize foreign words

I'm sure our readers do not need to submit Duolingo. Everybody knows that this is one of the most simple and accessible services for learning foreign languages.

Recently, the company-developer of Duolingo has released a new application called Tinycards for iOS. It is based on Leitner system that involves spaced repetition of new words and concepts as long as the student how to not remember the material. The program has received excellent reviews, so Duolingo also decided to launch the eponymous web service.

After registration you will be asked to choose a topic you want to study. There are sets of cards the most different themes - from the study of foreign languages ​​to the names of the chemical elements, and the names of Greek gods. In order not to get lost in this abundance, it is best to use the built-in search.

The learning process itself is plain, but very effective. You will be shown a card on one side of which there is a picture, and the second - the corresponding word. Then asked to check quiz when a picture you need to find the right word, or, on the contrary, compared with the word correct picture.

The frequency of repetition of words depends on how well you cope with the tasks. If you constantly make mistakes in any word, it will be repeated again and again. If the program sees that you are well remembered material, it shows it to secure only after some time.

Most sets of cards in Tinycards created by the users themselves. On the one hand, it has allowed the service to quickly acquire educational materials on various subjects. However, some courses are frankly amateurish character and riddled with errors. Let us hope that this is a temporary phenomenon and Tinycards soon there will be more professionally compiled sets of cards.
