Embargo on publishing the full review "The Witcher" from Netflix falls only on December 20 in the opening day. However, some critics are already familiar with the series, and to share their first impressions on Twitter. Reviews brief but quite eloquent.
I'm not allowed to say much about #TheWitcher until next month... but here's my reaction of the first episode in a GIF @witchernetflixpic.twitter.com/jsAuMo7gAw

I'm not allowed to say much about "The Witcher" until next month... but here's my response to the first episode in a GIF-kyo.
I've seen the first 5 eps. Admittedly I'm bias as i live the game and the genre, but it's probably up there with Mando and Watchmen as my favorite shows of the year
- KC Walsh (@TheComixKid) November 23, 2019
Looked first five episodes. Of course, I'm biased because I love the game and the genre, but "The Witcher" is now on a par with "Mandalorians" and "Guardians" in the list of my favorite TV series of the year.
Scene of fighting in series elate, especially in comparison with "Game of Thrones".
The fight choreography is insane. First fight Geralt gets into is beautifully savage. The blend of swordplay and Geralt's signs is perfection#TheWitcherpic.twitter.com/8JaXGfltIO

Choreography fighting mad. The first battle Geralt - an amazing ferocity. The combination of fencing and signs of Geralt - perfection.
Oh I will say this. The fight scenes in The Witcher make Game of Thrones fight scenes look like two drunks fighting outside a bar.

Oh, I'll say it. In comparison with scenes of battles in "The Witcher", the fighting in the "Game of Thrones" look like a drunken brawl outside a bar.
The look of the show is solid. Sets, costumes, and effects are great - nothing to worry about on that end https://t.co/3WdpJfxiLo

The show looks solid. Sets, costumes, gorgeous effects, do not worry about it.
Many praised the cast, especially Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotru, playing Yennefer.
#TheWitcher'S cast both lead and supporting are beyond exceptional. Amazing cast all around. pic.twitter.com/r2gc61LH0i

The cast as the main or secondary, just exceptional. An incredible cast.
I've seen some of season one of 'The Witcher' and I am sooo happy it is getting a second season!
Anya Chalotra as Yennefer is inspired casting. Truly. https://t.co/cgnDcP9S17

I saw part of the first season of "The Witcher", and I'm so happy that he will be the second season! Anya Chalotra as Yennefer gorgeous.
So... I've never really been thirsty for Henry Cavill. I mean, I get he's handsome but just have not.
I've seen a screener of the first episode of #TheWitcher and, um, I think I'm pregnant. pic.twitter.com/1dIZ5egHT6

So... I never really liked Henry Cavill. I mean, it was beautiful, but not my type. But I watched the first series of "The Witcher" and it seems I'm pregnant.
Watching the screeners for @witchernetflix. I'll admit, as a huge fan of the books, I was a little worried, but @LHissrich has done a masterful job telling this story. It also helps that the cast is amazing! And Henry Cavill, just... wow. #TheWitcherpic.twitter.com/xdFnYtRN4j

Looked screener "The Witcher". As a big fan of the books, I was a little worried, but Hissrich Lauren has done a masterful job on the script. Also cast is wonderful! And Henry Cavill just... wow.
Also, critics have noted the discrepancy with the original story by Andrzej Sapkowski's books.
After watching the five episodes Netflix put out as screeners, I do want to say one thing to all of the fans of the books - it's not a review and there are no spoilers: If you go into it thinking it's going to be EXACTLY like the books, you're going to be disappointed.

After watching five episodes screener, I want to say to all the fans of the books one thing - this is not a review, and no spoilers: if you are expecting that everything will be exactly on the books, you'll be disappointed.
The show follows the heart and soul of the overall story. It is extremely well done, but be prepared for some differences. I truly believe fans of the books - and even fans of the games - will like this adaptation. But remember, it's just that - an adaptation.
