For most owners of Apple equipment, the UDID is very familiar acronym, it is a serial number for devices on iOS platform. Did you know that your Mac has a similar, hardware UUID? In this article I'll show you where to find it, so you can use it for beta testing.
If you ever experienced a beta application for the Mac, you probably know about the need of the developer, the UUID of your device. This alpha-numeric value is used by the developer to provide Adhoc software version specifically for your Mac. Search your UUID is not so difficult once you figure out where it is in OS X.
To find the UUID of your Mac, you need to click «Apple», the icon in the upper left corner of the Mac menu. Click on "Apple's", then select "About This Mac", as shown in the image above.

This will open the basic information about your hardware the Mac, including CPU, memory, and bootable discs. Click on "Read More" to view detailed information about the system.
This information box provides additional information about your computer, but you have to make one more step to find your UUID. Click on "Report System" and then "Hardware" at the top of the screen. In the right pane, you will find your "hardware UUID» at the bottom of the list, as shown below.
When you find the UUID, you can select it and copy it to the clipboard.
