Graduated in 2002 from St. Petersburg State University, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkic Philology.
In 2005, under the leadership of Professor V. G. Guzeva defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Experience in reconstructing the phonological system of the language of ancient Turkic runic monuments,” for which she in the same year she was awarded the prize “For scientific works by young scientists of St. Petersburg State University”, and was also declared the winner of the competition for young scientists of the Government St. Petersburg. Professor of the Oriental Faculty of St. Petersburg State University. In 2020, under the leadership of Professor V. B. Kasevicha defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Phonology and morphonology of agglutinative languages in a diachronic perspective (based on the material of the Turkic literary languages of Asia Minor in the 13th-20th centuries).” Area of scientific interests: Turkic linguistics (Turkic phonology), Middle Eastern (Turkic) literary studies and cultural studies. Author of more than 100 scientific publications.
Professional experience
In addition to scientific activities, he is a literary translator from Turkish. Member of the Writers' Union of St. Petersburg. Grand Jury Literary Award National Bestseller. Among the works of Turkish literature translated into Russian are novels of the largest modern Turkish writers such as Orhan Pamuk, Nazim Hikmet, Zülfü Livaneli, Sabahattin Ali, Ahmed Hamdi Tanpinar. The translation of “Other Flowers” by O. Pamuk was highly praised and was chosen by Time Out Russia experts as one of the three best translations of 2008. Collaborates as a columnist and literary observer with major literary and cultural magazines in Russia and Turkey. He is actively involved in promoting Turkish writers in Russia, and Russian writers in Turkey. He is a permanent translator of the works of Nobel Prize laureate Orhan Pamuk into Russian. Winner of numerous Russian and international awards for translation, scientific and teaching activities.
