The course is focused on developing in students the skills and abilities of independent analysis and comprehensive solutions to social, economic and environmental problems.

As a result of studying this course, students should:

– have an idea of ​​the main contradictions that arise when trying to combine the economic and environmental interests of society;
– analyze the actions taken in Russia aimed at harmonizing social, economic and environmental objectives.
– know the principles and methods of rational environmental management;
– be able to analyze problem situations, determine the degree of their criticality, carry out structuring and diagnosis of problems;
– master the basic methods of analyzing action alternatives and making effective decisions;
– have knowledge about the principles of achieving sustainable development developed by the World Community;

– master the techniques of developing and selecting management decisions, including the use of modern information technologies;
– be able to solve complex, semi-structured problems, which is especially important in conditions of various unexpected and unpredictable changes in external and internal environmental factors

Lectures are held in the exhibition halls of the 28-24 floors of the Museum of Geography of Moscow State University and are provided with exhibition materials from the museum and modern technical teaching aids, including Internet access. During practical classes, the necessary handouts are provided.
