A record has been set for smartphone sales in Russia. Three Chinese brands in the top

In Russia, in the first 11 months of 2023, 27 million smartphones were sold - this is an absolute record. At the end of the year, the figure may increase to 34 million, since the season of gifts is ahead. Izvestia about this told market participants and analysts.

The main driver of sales growth was the large-scale marketing activity of retailers, often offering a “1+1” promotion, when for the purchase of an expensive model a budget-class device was given as a gift.

The growth in smartphone sales was also facilitated by the aggressive promotion policy of Chinese brands, which have replaced Western manufacturers and are already offering gadgets of various classes.

Thus, the most popular smartphone brand in Russia has become Redmi from Xiaomi - it occupies 20% of the market. Realme is in second place with 14%, Apple is third with 11%, and newcomer Tecno is in fourth place with 9%. It was the new products of these companies that were in greatest demand in 2023.
