Human ecology is a scientific discipline formed at the intersection of geographical disciplines, biological and social sciences. It is distinguished by its interdisciplinary nature, significant applied component and multidimensional content.
A graduate of the program will master the basics of fundamental geographical education at Moscow State University with a specialization in ecology human, anthropoecology, applied and social ecology, as well as medical-ecological assessment and medical-ecological mapping.

The goal of the program is training under the advanced training program to perform a new type of professional activity under the “Human Ecology” program.
During this program, students will acquire:
- an idea of the variety of environmental factors (natural, socio-economic, man-made, etc.) affecting the life of the population; the possibilities of human adaptation to changing living conditions; risks of the social-natural-technogenic sphere and risks of emergency situations; modern approaches to assessing the consequences of the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on humans and the quality of the environment according to medical and environmental parameters; methods of assessment, control and management in the field of human ecology;
- ability to assess the degree of comfort of the living environment for the life of the population in various natural and socio-economic conditions, take part in environmental assessments and compilation of anthropo-ecological forecasts; use a modern statistical database, GIS and environmental-epidemiological technologies when conducting comprehensive monitoring and risk assessment of human health;
- practical skills in obtaining modern information, geoinformation and environmental-epidemiological technologies on various problems of human ecology; skills in analyzing and forecasting the influence of natural and technogenic environmental factors on human somatic, mental and reproductive health; practical methods of anthropoecological research, incl. technology for creating medical and environmental passports and maps.
