Mathematics tutor: preparation for Olympiads - course 6890 rub. from Foxford, training 4 lessons, Date: December 5, 2023.
Miscellaneous / / December 08, 2023
Foxford is an online school for students in grades 1–11, teachers and parents. In online courses and individual lessons with a tutor, schoolchildren prepare for the Unified State Exam, Unified State Exam, Olympiads, and study school subjects. Classes are taught by teachers from Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Higher School of Economics and other leading universities in the country.
Advanced training and professional retraining courses are held for teachers, and open classes on the upbringing and development of children are held for parents. The project is a resident of Skolkovo.
Why us?
Our teachers are experts in the Unified State Exam and Unified State Exam, compilers of olympiads and teachers from the best universities in the country.
Our graduates enter the budget of Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Moscow State Technical University. N. E. Bauman.
You can study from any device: computer, tablet, smartphone.
A variety of training options: courses for schoolchildren and teachers, individual tutors, mini-group classes, home school and external studies.
Since I was a student, I have been interested in teaching and tutoring in mathematics, physics, theoretical mechanics, strength of materials and English (for more than 10 years). I have quite a lot of experience in the field of tutoring, my own developed teaching methodology and, as a result, excellent reviews from my students. Since 2015, in addition to live communication with students, I have also been teaching remotely, which saves time for both the student and the teacher. I only study: 1) in specialized mathematics with students claiming 80+, 90+ and 100 points, 2) Olympiad students of different ages, 3) students in higher mathematics.
- Individual approach to each student. Development of mathematical speech, logical, abstract and independent thinking
- All classes are held in a calm, friendly and positive atmosphere, with humor where appropriate
- I present and repeat the material in dialogue mode with the student, receiving instant feedback and reaction to the perceived information.
I'm working on the topic "Testing some hypotheses of number theory on small values on a mathematical circle." At a math circle at the university, children were presented with some open problems in mathematics in a form they could understand and were given the opportunity to test them by writing a program. The children really enjoyed being involved in something hitherto unresolved. In basic lessons, this approach is also applicable to increase motivation, interest and “closeness” to the subject.
To further interest the child in studying the subject, I clearly demonstrate its (interesting) application in the world.
I try to find an individual approach to each student. And adjust the presentation of the material specifically to it.
Modern computer technologies are used to their full potential, especially in computer science.
I strive to ensure that each lesson turns into an independent study for the student. I try to teach the student to think.
I prepare for the Unified State Exam and Olympiads at various levels. I try to avoid long explanations and monologues. I structure the lesson in such a way that the student is forced to show maximum intellectual activity. I believe that a worthy result can be achieved only if the student is immersed in the problems that I pose to him.
I try to set the student up for such immersion, to convince him that our classes are just the tip of the iceberg, and the basis for success is independent work in a jointly defined direction. Nothing can be taught, but everything can be learned. And my task is to help with this.
I work with students in grades 9-11. There is practically no experience working with students in grades 5-8. And I’m not ready to take on this yet.
- I strive to ensure that each lesson turns into an independent study for the student. I try to teach the student to think.
- Theoretical material is mastered by students directly while solving problems. I teach how to build models of processes and phenomena.
- I use non-standard tasks from various sources.
A lesson plan has been constructed, taking into account all the individual characteristics of the student - the goal of the lessons, which textbook is used at school, which topics are more difficult to understand.
Personal training plan, taking into account all the wishes and requests from parents and students
Sign up for an introductory lesson
Choose a convenient time for a free introductory lesson or leave your contacts to consult with support
Invite your parents
It is important that they are with you during the introductory lesson and can also ask questions about the training
Define the load
During the lesson you will solve problems and check your level of knowledge in order to understand which topics need to be improved
At the beginning of the course, topics from 7th grade in physics are repeated, as well as material not included in the 8th grade school curriculum: mechanical, light and electrical phenomena. The classes teach how to solve and correctly present problems and experimental results in the Maxwell Olympiad in Physics.

During the classes, all topics of Olympiad mathematics are discussed in practice: invariants, Dirichlet’s principle, graphs, induction, divisibility. The course involves discussing and proposing approaches to solving problems, and teaches the use of approaches that will help you feel confident at the Mathematics Olympiad.
