Apple named the best apps of the year according to the App Store Awards 2023

After Google best apps of the year chose and Apple - as part of the App Store Awards. In the middle of the month called There were 37 finalists, and now the 14 best applications in different categories have been selected. Here are all the winners:

• iPhone App of the Year: AllTrails is a service for lovers of running, cycling and hiking, which helps build a route and track results.
• iPad App of the Year: Prêt-à-Makeup — an editor in which you can experiment with makeup: apply cosmetics with different colors and textures to the face chart, choosing interesting combinations before working on your face.
• Mac App of the Year: Photomator - a photo editor from the creators of Pixelmator, a competitor to Lightroom with support for more than 600 RAW photo formats.
• Apple TV App of the Year: MUBI — a streaming service with high-quality films from recognized directors and rising cinema stars.
• Apple Watch App of the Year: SmartGym is a fitness application that creates personal training plans and helps track their effectiveness.

• iPhone Game of the Year: Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based role-playing game from the Chinese company HoYoverse, known for Genshin Impact.
• iPad Game of the Year: Lost in Play is an adventure with puzzle elements in which the player needs to help a brother and sister travel through a fantasy world in search of a way home.
• Mac Game of the Year: Lies of P — soulslice based on the fairy tale “Pinocchio”.
• Apple Arcade Game of the Year: Hello Kitty Island Adventure — a cozy and cute life simulator with a popular mascot.

The best applications and games were also announced in the “Cultural Impact” category – these are projects that help change the world for the better. Here are the five winners:

• Pok Pok Playroom - a children's game based on Montessori method.
• Proloquo is an app designed for non-verbal children and adults to learn alternative communication methods.
• Too Good To Go is an app that allows you to buy expiring food from restaurants or stores that would otherwise have to be thrown away at the end of the day at a big discount.
• Unpacking - a meditative game - a moving simulator in which the player, over the course of 8 moves, learns about the life of a character who never appears on the screen. In 2022 the game received two BAFTA Games awards at once.
• Finding Hannah is a hidden object game about a girl who has a good job and a comfortable life, but she doesn’t feel happy. Together with the player, she will have to get to know herself better and understand what it means to be happy.

Apple named generative neural networks as the main trend (which is not surprising). Notable AI apps include ChatGPS, Canva, and Picsart.
