How to connect the MacBook to add sound to the charge (as in iOS)

When Apple started sending the first pre-orders The new MacBook with Retina-display, in addition to incredible design and new keyboard, the owners were impressed with yet another innovation. It turns out that when you connect to charging the new MacBook makes a sound similar to that which is familiar to us on the iOS-devices of all generations. Apple had to go to such a measure, because the connector USB-C, unlike the MagSafe, has no indicator light. In order not to feel deprived compared to owners of new items, such sound can include charging the owner of any MacBook, and I will tell you how to do this in this article.
You probably already guessed that the whole thing can be turned a couple of lines of code in the Terminal. And there is. Here's what you need to do to enable sound connection to charge your MacBook:
- Disconnect from Mac power cord.
- Open the Terminal (In the folder "Programs" or the Spotlight) And copy the code that's in it:
defaults write com.apple. PowerChime ChimeOnAllHardware -bool true; open /System/Library/CoreServices/PowerChime.app &
Everything. Now connect the power cable when the next time you hear a painfully familiar sound, signaling the beginning of the charging. Disconnect and reconnect the cable again to make sure that everything works as it should.
Additional elegance of this trick is that the new Macs with PowerNap technology support, charging sound will be heard even when the cable is connected to the laptop in sleep mode. In principle, nothing supernatural, but you get one more way to know that charging has really begun. Sometimes there are cases when the snap connector is not until the end, and we are in a hurry do not pay attention to the indicator.
Traditionally, the reserve command cancels the changes. If you want to return everything as it was, open the Terminal and copy this code here:
defaults write com.apple. PowerChime ChimeOnAllHardware -bool false; killall PowerChime
Oh, I almost forgot. For this trick you will need OS X 10.10.3But I'm sure it's not a problem. After all, you have already renewed?
