This program sets as its task not just a presentation of the main events of the specified period in Russian history, but also a story about the main trends in the socio-political development of Russia, but the most serious consideration of the “personal factor”, i.e. personalities of the monarchs who ruled Russia in named time. No less attention will be paid to those around the rulers - the court, nobles, major reformers, especially the figures of the most significant commanders. In other words, the course intends to move away from the history of “masses, classes, long periods of time” to the history of “personalities, microfactors, the field of the individual in the historical process.”
Purpose of the program - an in-depth study of the socio-political and military history of Russia in the period from the second half of the 15th century to the end of the 16th century, i.e. for about a century and a half. As a result of mastering the discipline, the student must know the main phenomena, processes, events, and most importantly, the personalities of the period of Russian history from the second half of the 15th century to the end of the 16th century; know the main sources on the subject; opinions expressed during scientific discussions on controversial issues; be able to explain the essence and evolution of the main elements of Russian society of the specified period, as well as evaluate them role and significance for the general course of development of Rus'-Russia in the context of broader segments of domestic and universal stories; possess the skills necessary to understand and independently study socio-political problems.
