The method is effective not only in teaching, but also in everyday matters.
Since 1991, the World Memory Championship has been held - a competition in which participants need to remember as much information as possible in the allotted time. The first champion in history and eight-time winner of the tournament is Englishman Dominic O'Brien. In 2002, his name was included in the Guinness Book of Records. He memorized a random sequence of 2,808 playing cards, that's 54 decks. The record holder looked at each card just once, and then reproduced the entire sequence, making only eight mistakes. Moreover, he quickly corrected four of them.
If you have recently become forgetful and want to train your memory, mnemonics will come in handy. What it is, how it works and why it is effective in different areas of life, we will tell you in this issue.
