FUNDAMENTALS OF SUSTAINABLE FARMING AND VEGETABLE CULTIVATION (online course) – an additional general education program for adults in the field of crop production and agriculture.
Category of listeners: everyone.
Lesson mode: weekly remote viewing of 6 lectures out of 32 lectures in the program, followed by ongoing quality control of the material assimilation in the form of online test tasks.
There is an opportunity for students and teachers to discuss creative issues (topics for the forum; "contact hours"); special hours are allocated for discussing questions on the topic of the lecture.
Purpose of the program: in-depth study of different groups of vegetable crops, the basics of soil science, agrochemistry, the basics of plant protection from diseases and pests, sustainable farming.
The implementation of the program is provided by the Center for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources (CDER) of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Upon completion, a certificate of training for the program is issued.

The course consists of 2 blocks:
1. Setting up a vegetable garden, overview of greenhouses, basics of soil science, agrochemistry, plant protection.
2. Agricultural technology for different crops: potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, cabbage, root vegetables, green crops, medicinal herbs. An overview lesson on permaculture is provided.
Breeders and leading Russian specialists in this field are invited to give lectures on individual crops.
