Visualization in 3ds Max and V-Ray - free course from Skillbox, training, Date: November 29, 2023.
Miscellaneous / / December 05, 2023
3D modelers
You will systematize your knowledge and learn how to create photorealistic renders in V-Ray: from setting up materials and lighting to post-production. Increase your value in the market and earn more.
2D graphics specialists
You will learn how to use 3D renderings to create art - you will be able to draw faster and cooler. If after the course you want to switch from 2D to 3D, you will have a knowledge base and work in your portfolio.
He worked as a CGI graphics designer in the Australian studio Cream Studio, a 3D graphics designer and retoucher in the international company Lightfarm Studios.
In design since 2001. Winner of awards from festivals and competitions: KIAF, Awwwards, Idea!, ADCR, Golden Site, Runet Rating, Tagline Award.
He worked for Mercedes for more than 10 years, creating advertising visualizations for this automobile brand.
Introduction
You will become familiar with the areas of application and directions of 3D graphics. You will learn how materials and textures for visualization differ and what programs are available for working with it.
3ds Max Overview
Get familiar with the 3ds Max interface and customize the program. Learn keyboard shortcuts to control viewports and switch between tools. Learn to create standard and additional primitives. Master spline modeling and modifiers. You will feel more confident, even if you have not worked in the program before.
Basic V-Ray settings
Find out what functions and settings are in V-Ray, where they are located and what they are responsible for. Master the V-Ray Frame Buffer tools, learn how to set light sources, select models for rendering, create a composition, process renders and apply masks. Make your first completed render.
Basic principles of creating V-Ray materials
Learn to work with materials. You can customize basic parameters to create metal, leather, concrete, wood, car paint and glass.
Using an HDRI card in a scene and adapting to the environment
Learn what HDRI cards and backplates are. Learn to work with them, integrate the object and combine it with the HDRI map and background. You can quickly increase the realism of your renders without the expense of developing the environment.
Render passes
Learn what render passes are for and how to create them. Learn to assemble rendered 3D objects from passes in Photoshop and integrate them with the background.
Creation of complex material and plot
You will understand how preparation for visualization occurs and learn how to create a concept. Make a 3D visualization for a poster for the movie “Cursed Treasure”: a chain and a kraken pendant wrapped around a bottle with a message.
Working with textures
You will learn what PBR textures are and become familiar with the program for texturing 3D objects, Substance Painter.
Working with interior visualizations
Learn to use 3ds Max for interior visualization. You will learn several life hacks about furniture modeling, you will be able to work with materials and lighting, prepare the scene for rendering - and also load files into Photoshop and process them there. Make a visualization of the interior.
Creation of materials for a car: interior and exterior
Find out where to look for models with interiors and what are the features of CAD models. Learn how to import them into 3ds Max and replace parts. You will master VRscans, be able to work with references, assign materials using scripts, set up lights and cameras, and process the resulting renders in Photoshop.
Creation of materials for the car. Exterior using Maya and V-Ray as an example
You will make a selection of references, import the model into a 3D package and prepare it for further work. Create a texture in Substance Painter, set up a camera, work out the background, composition, wheels, render the necessary passes and assemble them in Photoshop. Do the final color correction.
Graduation project. 3D car model
Create a project from idea to visualization. Select the model and materials, adjust the lighting, and make the final render.
