Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Since 1994, as a student, she began her professional career in the latest Russian journalism of fashion, design and architecture, took part in the work of the first editions of glossy and special publications in these areas, which appeared in Russia.
Curator of the program “Fashion & Styling: an introduction to the world of fashion and style” at the British Higher School of Design. Teacher of several educational programs at the Higher School of Art and the Moscow Film School (Fashion Design, Interior Design, Theater Design, Scenography, Jewelry Design, Film Artists, etc.). Specializes in disciplines related to the history of fashion and style in relation to various professional fields. He is also a visiting teacher at Moscow State University (faculty of the Higher School of Cultural Policy and Management in the Humanities).
Since 2015, he has been a permanent lecturer at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, in the program “Fashion and Art of the 21st Century”, “Fashion and Cinema”, “Modern Design and Architecture”, etc. He also gives lectures at such cultural and educational venues as the lecture hall of the Garage Museum, “Gostiny Dvor” (Moscow Manege association), “Worker and Collective Farm Woman”, “Moscow Fashion Museum” and etc.
In the past, Ilektra Canestri worked for many years in the field of fashion journalism, and also covered design and architecture issues in the media. She was the editor of the fashion and culture sections of Vogue magazine, a staff editor and regular fashion critic for Elle, Interni, Numero, Cosmopolitan, BURO 24/7, Nezavisimaya Gazeta and RBC magazines. In 2005-2011 worked as Senior Fashion Editor for Vogue magazine (Greece). She collaborated with magazines ELLE, INTERNI, Aeroflot Premium, etc.
Ilektra Canestri teaches the block “History of Subcultures of the XX - XXI Centuries” in the long-term program “Styling and Image Making”.

After graduating from the Moscow School of Economics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, she worked for four years in the advertising department of Harper’s Bazaar.
Anna develops designs for the diamond mining company ALROSA, provides consultations on jewelry design, brand creation and other issues related to the jewelry industry.
Jewelry design
Main subject of the course. Students learn to take an analytical approach to jewelry design, set themselves design tasks and work with assignments from teachers. They master design graphics skills, learn the principles and means of modern design in the context of jewelry design. Classes include both a theoretical part and an extensive practical part on training skills through the construction of graphic and volumetric compositions.
Jewelry making technology
Includes mastering the skills of working with metal (carving, engraving, forging, chasing, soldering, riveting, polishing) and wax, as well as jewelry materials science and safety precautions. Within this discipline, the main time is devoted to practical work in the School’s workshop, which is equipped with the necessary tools for professional jewelry work.
3D modeling
The modern jewelry production cycle necessarily includes three-dimensional modeling. During the classes, students learn to confidently use Rhinoceros 3D three-dimensional editors. The 3D modeling discipline is closely related to the design and technology disciplines, so students master all stages of the real jewelry production process.
History of jewelry in the context of world artistic culture
In art history classes, parallels are drawn between the general stylistic features of eras of world culture and their manifestation in jewelry. Students study how the development of technology has influenced the image of jewelry and get acquainted with iconic names in jewelry.
3D printing
Students study types of three-dimensional printing and materials: various types of plastics, wax, metal printing. In addition to the theoretical part, practice is provided for printing student projects on a three-dimensional printer.
Non-traditional materials (series of master classes)
Theory and practical work with plastic and organic materials.
Business and Marketing
Gives an idea of the process of creating a jewelry brand and promoting jewelry products on the market. The subject includes the study of modern sales channels, as well as positioning and business planning.
