Miscellaneous / / November 30, 2023
The program covers the applied direction of geographical science, formed at the intersection of applied problems of renewable energy, bioenergy, botany, algology and microbiology.
A graduate of the program will receive knowledge in the field of ecology, nature management and environmental protection, as well as the basics of microalgae biodiversity in nature and museum collections; skills in practical work with collection cultures of microalgae will help students in their future work when assessing the profitability of projects for growing and processing microalgae; will acquire skills in maintaining and storing collection cultures of microalgae and the basis for isolating new strains from natural samples.
Purpose of the program – training in the field of ecology, environmental management and environmental protection, as well as training in the basics of microalgae biodiversity in nature and museum collections. The skills of practical work with collection cultures of microalgae will help students in their future work when assessing the profitability of projects for the cultivation and processing of microalgae. In addition, students receive skills in maintaining and storing collection cultures of microalgae and the basis for isolating new strains from natural samples.
During the course of the program, students will acquire the following skills:
- use of knowledge about microalgae – producers of various target products for feed, food, pharmaceutical and energy purposes;
- solving practical problems in the field of biotechnology for growing and evaluating candidate strains for growth rate and accumulation of target products in cells using high-quality express methods.
