Tuning in to knowledge
- We create a working atmosphere and solve simple geometry problems
Set a goal for the lesson
- The teacher explains what new things the student will learn by the end of the lesson
Discussing homework
- At the end of the geometry lesson, the teenager will know what tasks need to be done independently
Let's determine the level
We will find the strengths and weaknesses of the training and tailor the program to the student.
We'll help you improve your grades
We will strengthen the teenager's knowledge and confidence in the lessons.
Let's dispel the myth about boring and complex geometry
No useless problems - only real life examples and tasks related to teenage interests.
Bachelor and Master of Moscow State Pedagogical University, Master of MIREA. Teaching experience - 10 years
My favorite book is Harry Potter, and I am Professor McGonagall in it. I’ll teach you how to bottle actions with numbers, how to cook a problem using a formula, and even how to seal the root of an equation. But as long as you ask questions and do your homework!
She has been teaching mathematics for 5 years. Shows the subject from a new side
My signature learning method is through association: the rule of inheritance for rounding numbers, the rule of friendship for numbers with different signs, and much more. In my free time I play chess and volleyball
She has been teaching mathematics for 2 years. Was a volunteer teacher in a charity project
I always try to find a common language with students and gain their trust, I am in touch 24/7. In my free time I study English and German, I like to read, mainly English classics
1. 7th grade
Classes in the geometry course for 7th grade will begin with a repetition of topics that students covered in the previous year. After this, students will become familiar with new topics and learn:
solve problems with straight lines, segments, angles and rays;
measure angles and segments, compare them;
identify perpendicular and parallel lines;
understand the basic properties of shapes;
understand the properties of isosceles triangles and use them;
solve geometric problems using signs of equality of triangles, etc.
During the lessons, the teacher and student will work together to solve tasks that can help improve the skill of constructing figures. This will teach the student to build correctly:
bisectors, medians and altitudes of triangles;
circles, straight lines and segments;
triangles based on three elements, etc.
2. 8th grade
In 8th grade geometry students will learn new shapes and understand how to solve problems and do homework with them. Together with the teacher, they will figure out:
how to calculate the area of parallelograms, trapezoids, rhombuses and other figures;
what are central and axial symmetries;
how signs of triangle similarity will help in solving problems;
what is the basic trigonometric identity;
what are sine, cosine, tangent and cotangent;
how to solve problems with inscribed and circumscribed circles, and much more.
Also during the classes, the teacher will introduce students to several theorems that will help solve problems in geometry. During individual lessons, students will study new material: the theorems of Thales and Pythagoras, as well as the theorem inverse to the Pythagorean theorem.
3. 9th grade
One of the topics that geometry course students will look at together with the teacher is vectors. In individual lessons, they will learn what a vector is and how to plot it from a given point. After this, the tutor will teach schoolchildren to subtract and add vectors, multiply them by a number and decompose them into two non-collinear vectors. At the end of this topic, teens will learn how to solve problems using vectors.
In the online geometry course, students will continue to study geometric shapes and their properties. Together with the teacher, they will figure out:
what is a regular polygon?
how to calculate the circumference, as well as the area of a circle and a circular sector;
how to solve problems with prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone, sphere and ball;
how to calculate the volume and surface area of a polyhedron, and much more.
Another topic that students will discuss with the teacher is movement. In individual lessons, they will write down and analyze the concept, as well as the properties of movement. This will help them learn how to solve problems on this topic.
4. Preparation for the Unified State Exam
The education program in the course for grades 10 and 11 will help schoolchildren prepare for the geometry tasks that await them in the exam. Together with the teacher, they will analyze topics from the school curriculum of previous years and study new ones. During the lessons, students will understand:
what lines are called parallel, perpendicular and crossing;
how to prove parallelism of a line and a plane;
what properties do parallel planes have?
how to build sections correctly;
how to calculate the distance from a point to a plane;
what angles are called dihedral?
how to solve problems with polyhedra, etc.
A student of a geometry course will be able to consolidate his skills on problems in stereometry and planimetry that may be encountered on the OGE.
