"Knowledge is power."
Francis Bacon
These tips have come from the XVII century by the famous English philosopher, historian and politician - Francis Bacon. In the essay "Of Regiment of Health", he shares his thoughts on the health and happiness. He lived for 65 years, and at that time, and even with such unhealthy work (policy) - it is quite a long time. I think that is to listen to his advice.

So these tips have come from 1625.
1. Much safer conclusion is: "I do not deal very fit, so I will not keep doing it "rather than" I have not found anything contraindicated, therefore, I can use the this is".
2. To distinguish what could be done once, and do not try to do the same thing now.
3. Beware of sharp changes at any point in the diet. And, if necessary, strengthen it and adjust it for the rest. It is no secret that for the nature of that state, it is much safer to change many other things than this. (I found it particularly intriguing observation.)
4. Examine your usual diet, sleep, exercise, decorations and the like. And try to change what is harmful. But as these changes will not be very comfortable, you come back again to the old habits. Because it is very difficult to distinguish between what's just nice, from what is really good for your health.
5. Stay in a good mood in the meal hours, sleep and exercise is one of the best prescriptions for health. Avoid envy, restless fear and anger, which corrodes the inside, insidious and harsh interrogation joy and excitation in excess, unspoken sadness.
6. Take hope. Joy is better than pleasure, a variety of pleasures rather than their overabundance. Surprise and delight (and, consequently, new items) studies, which fill mind excellent and well-known objects (such as stories, legends and contemplation of nature).
7. You do not despise all new accident (sudden changes) in your body, but ask advice about them.
8. In respect of the disease, mainly health and health actions.
The translation is not exact, since my knowledge of English of the XVII century are very weak. But I have tried to convey the basic essence.
If we summarize all these flowery expressions, Francis Bacon advised to give up bad habits (in this case, he knew that it would be difficult); with respect to your body and take it changes; not too far from the pleasures (food, entertainment); do not clutter up his head any nonsense; try to think positive and avoid negative emotions. And, if we are sick, not to neglect the advice of doctors.
That's for sure everything is new - is well forgotten old;)
