“Never before has a person written so much. Both for professional purposes and for personal ones. The demands of modern society have led to the development of old and the emergence of new types of copywriting, which have both common features and their own specific differences. Often copywriting in the workplace has to be done by those who seem to have nothing to do with the “art of writing.” Salary, career, and the attitude of colleagues may depend on how skillful a person is in creating texts. The ability to create texts is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, it requires theoretical understanding and development of practical recommendations. A person creating a text will be more effective in his work if he knows the basic principles of communication, the specifics of his own creativity, characteristics of audience behavior, methods of collecting information and ways of presenting it, rules for using words, approaches to assessing the quality of writing, organization of work copywriter. This is exactly what we teach our students as part of the “Modern Copywriting” program at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University."
