How to use melamine sponge

What is melamine sponge
The sponge is a foamed melamine resin. The material has a special mesh structure. When wet, the melamine sponge, like an eraser, glides across the surface, and its fibers absorb dirt.
It can easily clean many materials and things without using household chemicals or any detergents. The sponge absorbs liquid well and does not leave streaks. If used correctly, one eraser will last a long time.
What can be cleaned with a melamine sponge
The melamine sponge is suitable for removing both fresh and stubborn stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
For example, it can be used to wash walls covered with tiles, porcelain stoneware, washable wallpaper or paint, as well as floor coverings - laminate, linoleum, tiles and the seams between them. Use a sponge to clean cabinet and upholstered furniture, household appliances, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, faucets, glass, mirrors, and wooden products.

What not to clean with a melamine sponge
Although melamine is considered a very gentle abrasive, it can scratch some surfaces. Do not use the sponge on acrylic plumbing fixtures, stainless steel kitchen utensils, non-stick and Teflon coatings, or natural stone products. The material is also not suitable for glossy and varnished surfaces, painted wood and metal, car bodies, phone screens, TVs and other gadgets.
If ingested, melamine can be harmful to health, so do not use it for washing. tableware, inner surfaces of pots and pans, vegetables, fruits and other products nutrition. Of course, you should not scrub any stains from your own skin with a sponge, so as not to damage it. This item is suitable for cleaning purposes only.
How to use melamine sponge
1. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands. For convenience and more economical consumption, it is better not to take the entire piece of melamine, but to cut a small block 1–2 cm wide.
2. Wet the edge of the sponge in slightly warm (not hot) water and press gently to squeeze out excess liquid. Do not twist the material: this may damage its structure and the product will lose its properties.
3. Apply the damp corner of the sponge to the stain and scrub it with a little force. Periodically wash the melamine as it gets dirty and gently wring it out.
If the stain does not disappear immediately, do not press the eraser too hard, otherwise you will simply quickly erase the material or scratch the surface you are cleaning. Be patient and move with light pressure.
4. During the cleaning process, the melamine sponge will one way or another be erased or even fall apart into fragments. This is natural wear and tear of the material. Throw away the used eraser, collect the remains and cut a new piece.
5. After the sponge has dealt with the dirt, thoroughly wipe the cleaned surface with a damp cloth to remove any remaining melamine from it.
6. Do not use any detergent in combination with the sponge. When interacting with chemicals, melamine can undergo unpredictable or even dangerous reactions.
How to store melamine sponge
Immediately after use, rinse the eraser in cool water, gently squeeze out excess liquid using light pressure, place it on a flat surface and let it dry completely. After this, place the sponge in a cabinet, shelf or other dry place. Make sure the melamine sponge is out of reach of small children and pets.
