Details about iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro screens revealed
Miscellaneous / / November 20, 2023
You may not be surprised, but Apple is in no hurry to change anything.
There is still almost a year before the announcement of the new iPhone 16 line, but details regarding upcoming changes are already appearing on the Internet. So, recently one insider told about replacing the Dynamic Island “pill” with a miniature hole, and now another source revealed characteristics of screen panels.
According to this leak, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have slightly larger displays - 6.27″ and 6.86″, both LTPO panels with a frequency of 120 Hz.
With the basic iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, everything is much simpler - the same sizes, 6.12″ and 6.69″, and the same modest 60 Hz refresh rate. It's indirect confirmed and industry analyst Ross Young, according to which Pro Motion panels will appear in regular iPhones only in 2025.
The decision to leave the refresh rate unchanged seems a bit strange. On the one hand, it is clear that Apple wants to show the maximum advantages of the Pro versions, placing the main emphasis on them. But on the other hand, today most mid-price Android smartphones offer 120 Hz displays. Apparently Apple doesn't consider them competitors for basic iPhones?
