Why am I not receiving an SMS with a confirmation code?
Miscellaneous / / November 16, 2023
Sometimes it's enough to just wait.
When using online banking, paying in online stores, and in other situations where two-step authorization is required, your phone acts as an additional level of protection. It receives SMS with one-time passwords or, as they are also called, confirmation codes. Usually these messages appear instantly, but sometimes errors occur. Here are the most common ones.
1. Incorrect number entered
If you have already used the service before, then there is a typo in number excluded. But when you indicate your phone number for the first time when registering or paying for an order, such an oversight may well happen.
In this case, it is enough to carefully double-check the entered numbers and re-send the code.
2. Not much time has passed
Large stores and services use high-performance servers, so requests are processed almost instantly. But in small venues there can often be delays due to low power, so don't worry too quickly.
Wait a moment before using the “Send again” button. Usually 2–5 minutes is enough, but occasionally the delay can be 10 minutes or more.
3. Your signal is weak
SMS reception is carried out over a cellular network, so in areas with poor coverage, for example in concrete buildings, basements or outside the city, this may be the problem. This also happens in densely populated areas where networks, on the contrary, are overloaded.
Check the signal strength and make sure your phone is not in airplane mode. If necessary, go to another location where the signal is stronger and send a new code. You can also sometimes request a phone call instead of SMS, and a voice robot will dictate a one-time password to you.
4. Notifications disabled
If you accidentally turned off SMS notifications or you have Do Not Disturb mode activated, then it's possible that messages are still coming through, but you just don't see them.
In this case, open your messages app and see if there are any new ones in the list. They will be displayed there regardless of the settings.
5. Spam blocking activated
Some antispam applications recognize SMS with codes as potential junk and block them with built-in automatic filters. As a result, the messages immediately end up on the blacklist.
Check if you have installed applications on your smartphone called Antispam, BlackList, Block-Spam, Call Blocker or something like that. If so, open them and check your Spam folder. If the problem is that the filters are not working correctly, then an SMS with a one-time password will be there.
6. Several SMS applications installed
When using third-party clients to work with SMS, the problem may be with them. Sometimes such applications conflict with standard ones, which is why errors occur when receiving messages.
Here we can only recommend removing third-party clients so that the built-in application takes over the function of sending and receiving SMS. Then request a new code and check if the SMS arrives.
7. There was a software glitch on the smartphone
The reason may be in the device itself, especially if you have recently noticed freezes and other glitches. In such cases, the culprit is software problems that can easily be fixed with a regular reboot.
On Android devices, to do this, you need to hold down the power button and select the appropriate menu item. On iPhone - quickly press the volume up button, then the volume down button, and then press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
After rebooting your phone, request the verification code again.
8. The service gives an error
It is possible that the problem is on the side of the site where you are trying to log in. Especially if the site is small and does not have the most productive servers.
If, after several attempts, you still do not receive an SMS with a confirmation code, take a break for a while and then try sending the request again. You can also contact the service support team and tell us about the problem.

I made it according to the proportions from the recipe. If the dough resembles pancake dough, it is only at the very beginning. When all the milk is poured in, beat easily with a mixer. Yes, it’s a little thick, you won’t get thin pancakes. Everything came off the frying pan without any problems either.
