Winamp is back: stylish Yaamp player for Yandex Music has been released

Russian developer Maxim Chingin released Yaamp application for listening to Yandex Music. The player's design completely replicates the iconic Winamp.

Authorization occurs through “Yandex ID” ​​on a separate page. After registration, the program demonstrates the Winamp 2.9 interface with a player, equalizer and playlists. If you wish, you can change skins - eight options are available in the context menu by right-clicking the mouse. If there are few of them, then you can upload your own.

All the main functions of Yandex Music are available in Yaamp - adding tracks to favorites, launching playlists, “My Wave”, personal selections like “Cache” and so on. There is also a search for songs and navigation through the user library. Other features include integration with Last.fm and Discord.

The menu also has a “Currently Playing” option. It redirects to the web version of music streaming. This can be useful if you want to find out details about a song or artist.

Yaamp is available for free for Windows, macOS and Linux. The author noted that the project is still at the initial stage of development.
