Director Chad Stahelski admitted that he himself loves anime.
In a new episode of The Discourse podcast, John Wick director Chad Stahelski told about a couple of upcoming projects in the universe. He noted that he practically did not participate in the work on “Continental”, because he is currently working on another, not yet announced series in the franchise.
Stahelski noted that in this project he is going to marry cinema with the TV format and provide both cool action and development of characters and the universe. He didn't give any details about the plot, but he hinted that we might learn more about the High Table, a powerful organization that controls the entire criminal world. The top will not be fully revealed, but some of its representatives will be shown.
An anime project is also in development - it is not yet clear whether it will be a full-length film or a series. Stahelski noted that he was very happy to work on this project because he himself loves anime. According to him, some stories can be told better in anime format than in a live-action series.
The release dates for both projects have not yet been disclosed. In the near future, only a serial spin-off awaits us “Ballerina"with Ana de Armas - it comes out next summer.
