Dark mode, switching accounts and more.
Spring Spotify reworked interface of mobile applications, updated the desktop version in the summer, now it’s time for the application for Smart TV. Developers announced large-scale redesign.
The new home page matches the design of mobile and desktop applications. From the main page you can quickly jump to your favorite tracks, recently played playlists and personalized recommendations.
If previously only the next track was displayed on the TV, you can now open the full playlist and go straight to the desired song.
For cases when the picture on the TV should not be distracting, a dark mode has been added. This is not a design color, but a darkening of the entire screen. Only the navigation elements remain bright.
Spotify has also finally recognized that there can be multiple users in a house with separate accounts, so it has added quick switching between different profiles.
The update will be available to all users, regardless of whether they have a Premium subscription on compatible Smart TVs, game consoles and set-top boxes. The exact release dates have not been announced.
