Steam Link gaming app will stop working on Samsung TVs
Miscellaneous / / October 24, 2023
The Steam Link app will officially stop working on Samsung smart TVs on October 30th. About it reported at Valve.
The service was introduced in 2017. It allows users to wirelessly stream PC games from their Steam library to other devices. The South Korean corporation stopped supporting it on new TVs after the launch of Gaming Hub, also focused on cloud gaming services.
Since then, users have had questions about the functioning of Steam Link. Some complain the service freezes when trying to start a broadcast with a resolution higher than 1080p. And the right joystick on the controller sometimes even turns into a volume control on the TV.
Valve noted that the application will continue to work on Apple TV and Android consoles.
