At the same time, we added photos to the PDF editor and the ability to view tabs from all open windows in one place.
October 24 it turned out Firefox 119 update for Windows, macOS and Linux. It added several new features and improvements to existing ones - including importing Chrome extensions, which started testing back in August. Now the function works stably and is available to everyone.
To use the feature, open the “Import browser data” item in Firefox settings. Select Chrome from the drop-down list and make sure extensions are selected in the list of data to import.
Only extensions available in the Mozilla store can be imported this way; Chrome-exclusive extensions cannot be added to Firefox.
Firefox View mode has also been improved. Now it allows you to view tabs from all open windows and from all devices with the same account. Recently closed tabs are also displayed here. Another innovation is the ability to configure sorting of browsing history: by date or site. To open Firefox View, click on the folder icon in the top left panel of the browser.
With the release of Firefox 119, the ability to add images when editing PDF files in the browser will gradually spread. You can add hidden descriptions to images.
Now the browser saves data between sessions not only about active tabs, but also about recently closed ones - in case you need to restore a tab that was accidentally closed last time. The update also adds the ability to restore a tab closed in a previous session, even if automatic session recovery is disabled in the browser (keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T).
If you have auto-updates disabled, you will need to download Firefox 119 manually.
