Mario and Max Payne: Russians named their favorite video game characters

According to survey VK Play, which was conducted among 1,200 Russians over 18 years of age, almost half of Russian gamers have a favorite video game character. Moreover, it turned out that most people care not about the physical or mental abilities of the characters, but about their appearance and humor.

The favorite character of those surveyed was Mario the plumber (29%). Max Payne and Gordon Freeman are also popular - 15% and 12% voted for them, respectively. Link from The Legend of Zelda and Kratos from God of War have 10% each. They were loved for their interesting stories, bright appearance and humor.

Gamers considered the most striking characters to be those from Grand Theft Auto and World of Tanks – the series had 11% of the votes each. World of Warcraft (9%) and Minecraft (8%) outperformed characters from Dota 2 (7%) and Counter Strike (6%). And Hearthstone came in last place (2%).
