Sony is planning a sequel to Uncharted

The success of the filmUncharted: Not on the cards”Quite expectedly caused talk on the Web about the continuation. And given an internal thank-you note from Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group head Tom Rothman, which posted in the public domain Deadline, you don't have to worry about a sequel.

Rothman writes: “Given the fees of $ 100 million only for the first weekend of rental and 90% positive viewer reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, Ancharted is the new hit film franchise for our companies." He also notes that this is the first major film of the film company, the shooting of which was completely stopped for a while due to the pandemic.

In the letter, Rothman refers to Uncharted as a movie franchise, while director Ruben Fleischer on the Hero Nation podcast openly declaresthat hopes to work on a sequel. He also noted that Sony is quite superstitious and does not plan such things before seeing the reaction of the audience, but the letter quoted above confirms that Sony liked what they saw.
