At the same time, Xiaomi 14 was officially shown before the full announcement.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted on his Weibo accounts and X news that he himself called historic for the company: HyperOS, Xiaomi's new operating system based on Android, is complete and ready for installation on smartphones.
The flagship Xiaomi 14 line will be the first to receive this OS: it has already begun to be installed on smartphones in production. After this, HypesOS will gradually replace MIUI, but the details of the transition have not yet been specified. There will probably be no more major versions of MIUI, but intermediate updates and security patches will still be released.
More details about HyperOS are expected to be announced during the Xiaomi 14 presentation. So far, Lei Jun has only noted that the development of the system has been going on since 2017, and published a photo with the unannounced Xiaomi 14 and the logo of the new OS.
