Rules for the use of recommendation technologies

These Rules for the Use of Recommendation Technologies are an integral part of the User Agreement https://lifehacker.ru/terms/ and determine the general conditions and rules for the use of information technologies for providing information based on the collection, systematization and analysis of information related to the preferences of Users.

Site administration https://lifehacker.ru/ does not allow the use of recommendation technologies that violate the legal rights and interests of users, and also does not allows the use of recommendation technologies for the purpose of providing information in violation of Russian legislation Federation.

Recommendation technologies hereinafter are understood as software systems that, using algorithmic calculations and machine learning, based on data about Users or characteristics of elements in the system, selects and ranks content.

The purpose of using recommendation technologies is to provide users with quality content, improve the resource and its functionality.

To generate recommendations, the software installed on the Site collects information about the actions of site users, namely page views. In the “Best” section, users are recommended those pages of the Site that are visited by the largest number of other users. Users can independently influence the order of content delivery by setting the time interval for which recommendations will be determined: “per week”, “per month”, “per year”.

The Site's recommendations are not personal in nature, do not restrict users from visiting other pages of the Site, do not interfere with searches, and do not hide any other articles.
